Overhead gantry cranes come in many different types and are referred to in many different ways. They can be made from single girder with the hoist underneath, or double girder, with the hoist on top or from box beam section. They may be top running (most common) or underslung, powered (motorised) or even push pull travel.

When ordering or inquiring it will help to know the following - but don't worry if you don't know them:

• The capacity or safe working load.
• The height of lift required - floor to beam or hoist.
• The span of the gantry crane or building.
• The down shop length; if support steelwork or an electrical crane festoon is required.
• If you DO NOT have these details our engineers can visit your site and take all the required details, free of charge.
• The headroom available above the crane or below the hook may need to be considered if it is close headroom.
• Environments that need extra consideration are not a problem for our beam cranes such as hot, cold or steamy atmospheres or even where dust or gases may be present.
